Create your own path of discovery this summer at Rockland BOCES! Choose from our extensive industry offerings listed below. Our Summer Teen Tech Camp engages and inspires campers as they hone 21st century skills.

WEEK 1 – JULY 10
Exploring Careers: Experience different career pathways through self-assessment inventories, guest speakers, job-seeking techniques and hands-on learning in our shops/labs.
International Cooking: Use basic cooking skills to prepare food from around the world and create an imaginative dish using a secret ingredient on the final day.
Welding & Sculpting: Learn the basic concepts of welding as it relates to manufacturing and fabricating as well as design concepts for metal sculptures.
Salon 101: Work in a professional salon and learn the basics of hair styling (blowouts, straightening and curling), manicure/pedicure techniques, makeup application and skin care.
Exotic Animal Care & Training: Care for and handle exotic animals like reptiles, birds, rabbits, chinchillas and hedgehogs.
WEEK 2 – JULY 17
All About Dogs – Grooming & Training: Investigate different breeds, learn how to groom them (bathing, ear cleaning and nail clipping), read their body language and teach basic obedience.
Car Repair 101: Work on cars in our state-of-the-art shop and learn the basics in automotive upkeep (oil change, tire rotation and brake, steering and suspension systems).
Graphic Design – Custom Logos for T-Shirts: Express your own brand of creativity by learning practical and technical design skills for creating custom apparel.
Power to Build: Complete a safety test for operating hand/power tools and learn how to plan, measure, cut, build and decorate a project for your home.
Just Desserts: Follow recipes to prepare a variety of desserts in our commercial kitchen and invite guests to attend a dessert party on the final day.
WEEK 3 – JULY 24
Digital Photography & Photoshop: Take pictures as an art form using the rule of thirds and Photoshop and display your work in our gallery on the final day.
Culinary Tour Around Asia: Explore and prepare Asian cuisine (dumplings, pho, kimchi, sushi and more).
Dirt Bikes & Quads: Learn the mechanics behind two- and four-stroke engines and basics of transmissions, steering, suspension and brakes.
Salon 102: Experience all areas of working in a salon (hair styling, manicure/pedicure techniques, makeup application and skin care) OR choose one or two to concentrate on as a follow up (but not a prerequisite) to Salon 101.
Junior Veterinary Science: Practice bandaging, performing physical examinations and other techniques on a variety of animals.
WEEK 4 – JULY 31
Welding & Fabrication – Nuts, Bolts & Thingamajigs: Learn the basics of welding and Computer Numerical Control (CNC) manufacturing and create a custom project with our industry partners (Wazer, waterjet cutting; Bantam Tools, machining of aluminum; and Awisco, welding/CNC plasma cutter).
Power to Build: Complete a safety test for operating hand/power tools and learn how to plan, measure, cut, build and decorate a project for your home.
Car Repair 101: Work on cars in our state-of-the-art shop and learn the basics in automotive upkeep (oil change, tire rotation and brake, steering and suspension systems).
Digital Painting – Turning Photos into Paintings: Turn photos into digital works of art by “painting” on a computer/tablet screen and displaying them in our gallery on the final day.
Italian Cooking: Explore the different regions of Italy and prepare popular cuisine from fresh-made pasta to chicken parmigiana.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQs)
FAQ #1: Will lunch be provided?
A: Campers need to bring their own lunch, snacks and drinks. They will be given a 30-minute break to eat and socialize.
FAQ #2: Will transportation be provided?
A: Campers must provide their own transportation to and from camp.
FAQ #3: What is the payment/refund policy?
A: Full payment ($275) must be received upon registration. Refund requests will be honored on a case-by-case basis up to the Friday before the registered week. A $75 processing fee will be charged. FAQ #4: Is there a discount for siblings?
A: If you are registering more than one child, the cost for the second will be $250. If you qualify, please call (845) 627-4770.
