Elementary, Middle and High School Intensive Day Treatment  (IDT)

Intensive Day Treatment has been a program offering at Rockland BOCES for 20 years. The program was initially designed to support students during a time of crisis on re-entry into the community, easing them back into the routine and reality of everyday life.

It has been noted that over the years, students’ academic success while at IDT equaled their successes in other areas, making for an even easier return to a home school.

In the two decades that IDT has been part of a BOCES and Rockland Children’s Center cooperative more than 100 students have benefitted from this service.

A team consisting of a teacher, teaching assistant, psychiatric social worker and psychiatrist, supports students and families.

The program, a collaboration between Rockland BOCES and the Rockland Children’s Psychiatric Center is designed is to stabilize the student and allow him/her to successfully return to their home district.
