School Library System

New York’s School Library Systems are state-funded programs designed to support the school library media programs of member public school districts and nonpublic schools. School Library Systems provide:

  • ACCESS: Use of the latest technology to make library collections accessible to the educational community
  • CONTENT: Establish special collections of materials through Cooperative Collection Development projects
  • TRAINING: Provide for continuing education, professional development, and specialized training opportunities for school library media specialists
