Congratulations to Thomas “Tommy” McGoldrick, our Rockland BOCES Jesse J. Kaplan School “MOVER of the Month” for February! Tommy has come a long way in his four years at Kaplan. He is able to sit in an activity chair without the use of a lap belt or arm prompts and is improving his head and trunk control daily. Tommy is continuing his work in the MOVE™ program and learning how to sit in a compass chair during group activities.
Through the MOVE™ program, Tommy is able to enjoy and take part in his lessons along with his classmates. We are so proud of his success. Keep up the great work, Tommy!
Kaplan’s MOVE™ (Mobility Opportunities via Education) program combines therapy and education to teach children with physical disabilities and complex needs the functional skills of sitting, standing and walking. MOVE™ aims to give children an opportunity to lead more independent and fulfilling lives. Every child deserves the right to MOVE™.
