It was a day filled with joy as our Board of Education, along with Rockland BOCES administrators, teachers and staff of the Jesse J. Kaplan School celebrated the official opening of the building’s new Splash Pad.
“This tremendous project started as a vision from one parent many years ago,” reflected Assistant Principal Patricia Caruso. “It is proof we are a collaborative team at Rockland BOCES, making opportunities for our unique learners no matter the distance to achieve it!”
The state-of-the-art, accessible space features multiple features for water play during the summer months. Contractors from Raymond Michael, Ltd collaborated with the team at BOCES to design a safe and engaging Splash Pad that met the needs of the school community.
Several years in the making, the $98,000 project was largely funded with generous donations from the Jesse J. Kaplan School PTA and the Rockland BOCES Family Resource Center Foundation.
“On behalf of the students, thank you! We are extremely grateful for the endless days of fun to come!”
