New York wins nearly $700 million in Race to the Top Competition


The United States Education Department has announced that New York State has been awarded $696,646,000 as a winner in the second round of the federal Race to the Top competition. Special Education summer school serves more than 400 students


The six week special education summer school came to a successful close on August 13th. Two hundred eight students participated in the program at Kaplan, and 145 students enrolled in district based programs during the traditional school year, attended classes at Nanuet Middle School and on the West Nyack campus. Regional summer school draws students from across the county


More than 1300 students were enrolled in the 2010 Regional Secondary Summer School Program offered through Rockland BOCES.Middle and high school course offerings include English, math, social studies, science, Spanish I and II, health, physical education and ESOL.
