Youth Connections Work Experience

Put Your Skills To Use

Youth Connections aims to help young adults gain workplace skills and experience that align with long-term career goals. Students may participate in a “Work Experience Bootcamp” which covers a wide variety of career-related topics, including teamwork, resume building, interview skills and customer service.

Upon successful completion of the “Bootcamp,” each student is eligible to take the National Retail Federation’s Customer Service and Sales Credential Exam. This credential is recognized nationally by some of the largest retail employers including Best Buy, Home Depot, Macy’s and Target.

In addition, eligible candidates may participate in a PAID work experience. Our work readiness trainer matches young adults with local businesses, whose industry affiliations align with the student’s future career goals. Participants will be paid a competitive wage of $13 per hour and may work up to 20 hours per week for up to three months.
